A representative of the Improve River LIFE project team participated as a speaker at the webinar "Removing Barriers for Successful and Resilient Rivers", organized by WWF on September 17, 2025.
The focus of the Improve River LIFE project was presented, including its goals, expected outcomes, project area, and activities carried out from the beginning of the project to date. Experiences related to the challenges encountered during project implementation were also shared, as well as recommendations for future applicants undertaking similar activities—namely, those related to the removal of artificial barriers in watercourses.
Participants had the opportunity to learn more about river barrier removal and the restoration of river ecosystems. Experts from leading organizations, including WWF, BIOM, Zelena akcija, Dinarica, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, shared the latest updates, experiences, and funding opportunities for river barrier removal projects in Croatia and the region.
