Representatives of the Krka National Park Public Institution, as the coordinating institution of the Refresh Fish LIFE project (2025-2030), attended the thematic presentation of projects within the thematic unit LIFE Nature & Biodiversity held in Brussels on October 15, 2025. year.
At the beginning of the meeting, representatives of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) informed everyone present about the latest changes, rules and challenges in the implementation of LIFE projects. Also, the participants could get to know the employees of the CINEA agency who monitor the execution of projects (financial, administrative, professional monitoring, etc.).
At the end of the introductory joint part of the meeting, thematic groups were formed where projects were presented. Within Working Group 4. Freshwater, Wetlands and Marine, projects were individually represented by project managers. The Refresh Fish LIFE project was presented by Gordana Goreta, the project manager from the Krka National Park Public Institution, who introduced the attendees to the basic information about the project and presented the issue of the presence of invasive alien species in protected areas, the ways and dynamics of their removal, as well as the goals to be achieved by the implementation of the LIFE project.
After the presentation of all projects on the topic from Working Group 4, a short panel discussion was held, which contributed to connecting similar projects, strengthening future cooperation and mutual support in the implementation of LIFE projects.
Representatives for the monitoring of LIFE projects in Croatia, Nikica Skroza, and monitor from the CINEA Agency, Edouard Gatineau, were also present at the Kick-Off conference, and representatives of JUN Krka established cooperation with the monitor team.
